I recently removed Red Dead Redemption because it became annoying, and I suspect it might have introduced a virus. Every time I start my computer, I see the warning "Select an app to open" in MyUserName folder. My Windows Defender has been flagging this threat for a month now. I've watched tutorials to fix it, but I'm stuck because I don't have admin privileges. In the Control Panel, I confirmed full system control, yet under the security folder settings I can't view my username or add accounts. I tried booting in Safe Mode, but BitLocker is still active and will need a recovery key afterward. Help me resolve this quickly!

I was thinking about starting in a live Linux environment or a lightweight Windows setup... But with BitLocker enabled, you're already secure on that front. The most reliable approach would be entering safe mode and using the recovery key. Pair this with additional antivirus tools like Malwarebytes to check if they can assist more effectively than MS Defender.

You can find the recovery key for BitLocker on the manufacturer's website or by contacting their support team.
