Hello everyone, I’m facing an issue with my Windows 7 computer where a small blue globe with a green arrow appears on my notification bar. It pops up for 1-2 minutes each time I use the device, then disappears. I can’t interact with it directly—it just shows up and vanishes. When I click it, I get an EXIT option, but I’m worried it might be collecting data or passwords. I’ve run several antivirus scans, yet the icon keeps showing up. Could you help identify what it is and explain its purpose? I’ve attached a picture for reference.

Review your process tree and uninstallation page—it could indicate an accidental installation or someone else added it.

Have you checked the installed applications for any unusual names? Did you use Malwarebytes, or if you're really concerned, verify each running process on your system?

It might be a crashing adware piece. I’m from AVG, and while it still outperforms Avast in detection and removal, it’s been acting up lately. I suggest using these tools: Eset Online Scanner, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, and F-secure online scanner. Eset excels at catching most threats with reliable signatures; lab tests aren’t worth the trust. Emsisoft blends Bitdefender and its own tech for strong detection. F-secure online scanner is solid—thanks to Mikko Hypponen!

Here’s a review of your installed programs and processes from your task manager. Since you’re unsure which one might be causing issues, consider checking for unfamiliar or recently added entries. If needed, let me know if you’d like help identifying potential threats.

Ensure only the desired items remain. Remove any unrelated parts.

You're asking about why someone should remove VLC Media Player from their setup. It might be related to compatibility issues or performance problems with a fax modem device.

The task concludes when the icon is deleted. To identify the removed line, open "Show processes from all users" and check the list for its absence.
