Virtualization Linux 4.12 with GVT compatibility
Hello, I have an Acer laptop equipped with an i7-6700HQ processor and a 960M RAM setup. It’s currently dual-booting between Windows 10 and Ubuntu GNOME using a custom 4.12 kernel. My goal is to run Windows 10 inside a virtual machine using QEMU/KVM or Virtual Machine Manager, while also routing my GPU through it. I understand that because my GPU is mobile, Optimized mode prevents its output from being accessed as a PCI device. However, with the 4.12 kernel, Intel CPUs can now pass graphics hardware to a virtual machine via GVT-G. I’m trying to learn how to configure this properly or if there’s any method to utilize my mobile GPU in a VM environment. I haven’t found much guidance online and feel a bit unsure about handling Linux on my own. Appreciate any assistance you can provide.
