I recently assembled a new PC and considered using virtual machines for gaming. I’ve watched several tutorials on the topic, so I’m curious about the advantages and disadvantages of doing this.

the main issue is that you don't fully utilize your GPU. therefore, major gaming won't work on a VM. you can manage casual games just like on your mobile, but playing AAA titles will likely not be satisfying.

I've noticed that in Linux, it's feasible to import your GPU into a virtual machine. With two GPUs available (which I own), you can run Linux as your booting system and use Windows 10 inside the VM with your GPU installed. This would allow me to test the latest releases since my current GPU is an RTX 3080.

I'm curious about any limitations this setup might introduce. For instance, would online games be affected? Could anti-cheat systems detect the virtual environment? Another significant issue is input lag when using a keyboard or controller. If you have answers to these questions, I'd really appreciate them.
