You're looking to set up your system with an x570 board and a Ryzen 5 3400G. You want to know if you can use a Type C output from a board that lacks HDMI ports for video purposes. It depends on the specific model you're considering. Some boards allow using the Type C port as a video output even without HDMI, while others may not support it. Always check the documentation or manufacturer guidelines for your chosen board to confirm compatibility.

It appears you can. They seem to be standard type C ports, which means they can send type C signals. For a 3400G, a X470 or B450 board would work fine.

I understand @piratemonkey's point. It doesn't make sense to pair the R5-3400G with a premium X570 board. A B450 or B550 (once available) would suffice. For a Ryzen 3800(X) or better, definitely opt for the top-tier X570—especially if you plan heavy overclocking.

I understand x470 works fine at 3400G, but I'm aiming to make it future-proof so you can upgrade to a stronger CPU later.

I understand, but since it's a startup I'm aiming to secure my infrastructure now. I'm avoiding purchasing a GPU right away—opting instead for an APU and planning to upgrade to a more powerful CPU later.

Several B450 and X470 models support a 3950x drive well.

I'm located in a region with limited board options, but I found my attention on the X570 series. If you're willing to consider an X470 or B450, I'd be happy to secure the most expensive model at an average price—this could help me save some money. Right now I'm in Turkey, and the official site www.vatanbilgisayar.com is the most reliable place to check availability. Use Chrome for better translation support.

High-speed RAM and better frequency options sparked my interest... especially with NVIDIA graphics, I think SLI support is preferable over CrossFire. I’m leaning toward MSI X570 Unify or Ace, since the main difference seems to be RGB.

Choose the X570 for future-proofing. It offers solid features if you're satisfied. Avoid sli/crossfire if speed matters.
