Greetings,

I’ve recently set up OBS (after testing several recording programs, it appears to offer the best customization options), but I'm encountering a persistent issue: my recorded footage consistently lacks clarity and detail, appearing blurry, jerky, and laggy. I’ve experimented extensively with various encoding settings, resolutions, file formats, bitrates, rate controls, and presets without success. I would appreciate assistance in identifying the cause of this problem or determining potential solutions. I can provide a video demonstrating the issue: https://vimeo.com/385123385.

The game consistently achieves an average frame rate of 90-140 frames per second. My system specifications are as follows:

* 1440p 144Hz Dell Monitor
* Superclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070
* Intel Core i7-8700k @4.2GHz
* 16GB RAM
* 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB 970 EVO SSD

—OBS Configuration—

* Source: GameCapture
* Recording Format: MOV
* Encoder: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 (new)
* Rate Control: VBR
* Bitrate: 200,000 Kbps
* Max Bitrate: 250,000 Kbps
* Keyframe Interval: 2
* Preset: Max Performance
* Profile: High

—Advanced Settings—

Look-ahead Enabled +
Psycho Visual Tuning
Max B-Frames: 2

Have you attempted a different drive that hasn't been utilized by Windows or games?

The 1 terabyte solid-state drive is empty, and it serves as the location for storing all the recorded data.

For your information, the image might appear slightly hazy because it's an older NVIDIA card (such as the 2000 series or 1660) and doesn’t perform optimally with CPU encoding. However, please attempt lossless quality settings. Furthermore, within the video options, reduce the scaling back to your native resolution.

Attempting to utilize the “Lossless” preset results in a red highlighting indicator and, regardless of the output format, the video consistently produces a black screen while scaling to my display’s original resolution.

Have you captured display or the game?
Cause you may have to do both.

I previously had display capture only (which proved to be worse framerate wise), then game capture only, and that is where I am at now, the game/display capture had made no difference when recording as it currently is
