When I launch any game, my computer experiences lag in CSS. It maintains around 200+ frames per second initially, but after a few seconds it drops significantly, leading to stuttering. The hard drive is functioning properly; I performed a disk cleanup, updated all drivers, and even rolled back to an older driver, yet the issue persists across all games, whereas I have no problems with them.

All HDDs yes, about a third of them. I don't know their exact names. I usually don't store the hardware boxes. I'm not sure if it's even hardware at first, since all sensors are fine.

Your system needs to be as fast as possible. A 256gb SSD as a boot drive would cost around $20 and significantly boost performance. Would you like me to adjust your settings? If not using MSI Afterburner, please configure its OSD to display RAM, CPU clock speed, usage, GPU usage and clocks. This will help you track performance in games.

My system works well most of the time, but MSI doesn't help and just causes more issues. I'm looking for a solution, not someone to criticize my setup too much.

Hello there,
At first I wasn't aiming to criticize your setup, just to share some advice. Please forgive if this came across that way. It was unintended. My goal here is simply to help you understand better.
Regarding your current problem, there might be a solution, but we need to accurately identify what's causing the issue. Just mentioning FPS drops and low usage won't be very helpful in determining the root cause. We'll go through each possible factor one by one, hoping to locate the problem.
I'm not entirely convinced that MSI Afterburner is the culprit. It doesn't actually damage systems; instead, it's a useful diagnostic tool for tracking performance metrics.
You might also try using Task Manager to keep an eye on your system's activity, though it's less effective than MSI tools. HWInfo can help monitor other system aspects as well.
Here are some initial steps you could try:
- Run CPU tests with Cinebench R23 and verify the results match your CPU's typical performance. You can also use CPU-z for a quick benchmark.
- Check GPU performance using Superposition or Furmark, comparing scores to online benchmarks to confirm functionality.
- Test RAM with memtest86+ to ensure it's operating correctly. This test runs outside Windows and from the BIOS.

It turns out the CPU fan pins were damaged earlier when I tried to reinstall them. I got a new fan today and it's working now, so I'm hoping it won't need a better one in the future.
