I was wondering if there are any effective ways to bypass the buffering or stuttering in your YouTube videos during gameplay, especially when playing more demanding titles. It seems like your system is already using a lot of resources, but I’m curious if there are limits beyond just lowering graphics settings. If it’s mainly about resource consumption from intense games, I’d appreciate any suggestions that go beyond just reducing visual quality. I know these can be tough to fix, even with my love for gaming and watching videos while playing.

You might reduce the frame rate slightly to free up more GPU resources for other activities. On my setup, playing Roadcraft causes my PC to run extremely slow, making it impossible to stream YouTube while it uses the GPU fully. This issue mainly appears in games that demand a lot from the system.

Verify that hardware acceleration for video decoding functions correctly. The Video Decode graph in the GPU section of the Performance tab in Windows Task Manager should display activity during YouTube playback. Integrated graphics would allow running videos, but your 5900x lacks one. This issue appears on high-end systems as well? I assumed it was due to my laptop's single-channel memory and integrated graphics. Memory starvation is likely the cause.

Certainly. Even with a powerful setup like a 9800X3D and an overclocked RTX 4080, using the GPU at full capacity for YouTube can cause stuttering. This is uncommon but does occur in demanding games.

Limiting the frame rate isn’t the sole simple solution. There are tools available to restrict how much GPU power applications consume, but achieving exactly 75% usage depends on the software and system setup.

Encountered a problem with the wallpaper engine leading to stuttering or lag in games. If you have it installed, try shutting it down and checking again.

Focus solely on Windows features and its approach to HAGS. Turn off the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling option; it functions properly but may reduce game performance. This setting applies universally, irrespective of hardware specifications.
