Occasionally I experience slowdowns in the game while recording, but at the time of this recording (which I’m about to demonstrate) there were no frame rate problems. Could the issue stem from my recording software or settings? Is it a system bottleneck, a hard drive problem, or something else?

Check if the video feed is transmitting without missing frames. Confirm Dxtory is correctly configured for OBS integration.

I'm not sure about what you're referring to. It sounds like both programs might be causing delays in the videos, even though you don't use them together.

if it's a bottleneck then it's either the i5 can't handle it. or the 660 is just too old to be competent anymore.

Sure, I can help with that. Recording with OBS and checking for frame drops will give you clear insight into the issue.

Open the frames for a clear view or rely on your visual judgment.

You can, there's no harm in it.

I didn’t notice any severe frame drops, but the video seemed a bit slow. I’m unsure if that’s just my focus on every frame, but the recording quality was poor, even worse than what I showed. Could my computer not handle 60 frames per second? I used to be able to do it a few weeks back.

I attempted to record using DxTory at the same quality and other parameters, but I consistently captured a steady 20-25 frames per second.

Without specific info on CPU usage<|pad|>, it's hard to pinpoint the issue. What you're looking for is an OBS window showing frame encoding status or lag indicators.
