You're experiencing a significant drop in performance, going from 86% to 43% in just 1.5 hours. The battery is showing an average charge rate of -40W, with battery saver, hybrid mode, and eco mode active. Running Windows 11 on power efficiency settings and using Intel Core i7-14650HX with RTX 4050. You plan to download the Windows performance analyzer to investigate further.

The processor and graphics card are using significant power. As a browser, you’d likely keep the CPU busy without much extra work. I own a MacBook Pro not because of its features but because I’ve grown tired of Windows laptops doing this kind of thing. It’s about finding a better balance.

It's incorrect, the laptop relies on the integrated GPU when using battery power. I configured it through the NVIDIA control panel.

CPU usage remains low, averaging around 7% during coding or browsing tasks. The iGPU runs at full capacity even when the laptop is on battery, using only a small amount (4-5%) for display tasks. RTX is seldom active, showing 0% power draw according to HWInfo. I’m mainly checking forums like Stack Overflow and Reddit, as well as YouTube, to get more insights. This device claims a 5-hour battery life, but that’s not what I’m experiencing. It’s also two months old.

Yes, you can observe the amount of power the CPU uses directly.

Your display brightness is usually the biggest factor in energy use while the device is not active.
