No clear distinction exists between legal and non-legal Windows 10 regarding performance or features beyond the watermark. Both versions offer similar capabilities, though legal editions may include additional updates and support.

Unless the genuine version receives an improvement in updates that the copied version lacks, this usually doesn't occur.

I think you mean unactivated, not illegal lol. There is nothing wrong with using the unactivated Windows program. The only difference is of course the watermark and lack of customization within Windows, ie desktop background. But you can use programs that will set your background anyway. such as the one found on Steam.

No, there isn't. Linus has a video on the subject (linked below). I haven’t turned on Windows and might never do so, even though some games have watermarks that interfere with text or menus. I’m 99% sure there’s no impact on gaming performance.

unactivated works smoothly with Windows updates. It seems Microsoft needs to keep contacting certain contacts about the issues before enterprises notice the watermark overlay, which is quite noticeable.

The watermark appears at half strength, which shouldn’t be too distracting unless he’s playing games where indicators or maps are present. For recordings or streams, simply grab a solid key.

It's unexpectedly "in your way" just scrolling through the web.

I haven’t faced any issues on my 27-inch screen. Everyone’s situation is different. I’ve been using Windows with a watermark since I didn’t want to buy one for around thirty dollars.
