Very unusual memory system mismatch situation.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to figure out how to fix a problem with my RAM setup. When both sticks are connected, half of the memory is marked as reserved in the BIOS, but everything still works. I've tried using each stick alone in single-channel mode to see which one fails, but neither does. The tricky part is that switching to another RAM package works perfectly, yet when mixing the faulty unit with a working one, 8GB remains reserved. In the BIOS, both sticks show the same timing, but their speeds differ—2133MHz vs 3000MHz. This makes me think the motherboard might be the issue, especially since the working kit didn't support XMP and ran at the lower speed. The same problem shows up on another board, so I'm not sure what to do next. I just want to make sure the RAM is still functional before handing it over to a friend who's starting PC building. Let me know if you have any ideas.
