So far, I've faced odd FPS problems in WoW for nine months. My CPU and GPU usage remain minimal, yet my FPS stays low. Adjusting graphics settings higher or lower changes GPU and CPU load to maintain the same FPS (for instance, 40 FPS with low settings equals 40 FPS at ultra). I've spoken to Blizzard, NVIDIA, Intel engineers, and they all seem to have exhausted their options. I've tried nearly everything possible. I was considering it might be a hardware issue, but no other game shares this problem. And I experienced the same with my GTX 1060. Any tips or tricks that could help?

WoW is quite demanding on hardware. It relies on just one core of your CPU, meaning you’ll notice only that single core working at full capacity. In my case, with WoW open: Thread 16 handles all the processing while the rest stay idle. Some sections give me only 30-40 frames per second. The engine seems poorly optimized for today’s processors and is likely based on a modified version of Warcraft 3, possibly dating back over two decades.

I know about that, but my core usage stays around 30-40%. I think I could hit over 40fps in spots like Deadmines Rolf.
