Previously, I purchased a powerline adapter that provided about 60 Mb/s, which is still less than the rate we pay for. Even a basic laptop from 2009 can reach 120 Mb/s, yet this performance doesn't match. Eventually, my connection dropped unexpectedly, and my ping reached hundreds. I rarely achieve more than 5+ Mb/s over powerline. When using my WiFi adapter—which is also of poor quality—I sometimes get around 50 Mb/s, but it quickly drops to about 8 Mb/s. Anyone have any long-term fixes or suggestions? I’m considering temporary options or explanations for why my powerline adapter seems to fail. I’ve restarted my computer and reset it several times.

Find a good PCIe Wi-Fi adapter and perhaps a fresh access point. Edited March 31, 2018 by GDRRiley

Have you considered providing a warranty or reaching out to their support team? What concerns do you have about the wiring?

The router is too far away and I can't shift my PC in any direction.

How much distance remains between your room and the router? Your 20-meter cable extends from your room to the router on the floor.

It's odd how they can produce Ethernet cables of any size you desire.

Use a long cable in a flat white style, tracing its path along the wall edges and door frames.
