I've tried the pro and gaming versions of Aquantia AQtion 10G cards and had positive results so far. But they're no longer in stock. You might want to look for alternatives or check local US retailers.

Are the alternatives RJ-45 required? What is your budget?

Looking for a RJ-45 connection and prefer staying within the same price range as the Aquantia cards. Around $100, but if it offers better value or quality, I’d think about it.

The Intel X540-T1 falls within a similar cost bracket. The operating system should handle driver installation automatically.

I'm aware the Aquantia AQtion 10G encounters issues with certain Linux distributions, yet I haven't reported any problems with the X540. I have a X540-T2 integrated into one of my server motherboards. I conducted some quick tests using Ubuntu Server and it recognized it immediately. It's a bit on the older side—Intel now offers newer models, but since that's the situation, you can usually find them at reasonable prices. Intel is a major player in network adapter manufacturing, making it a reliable choice for most popular Linux distributions. Unless you're using a very niche system, it's probably safe to assume compatibility.

The ASUS XG-C100C remains accessible through various resellers. Interestingly, it’s still available directly from Amazon in the UK. It appears to function properly only with kernels up to 4.15.3, and it operated smoothly on Fedora for a year prior. Likely, older versions of that kernel caused problems.
