Hello everyone. I recently swapped out the original HyperX heatsink for a white one purchased online. It’s quite simple to do using a guitar pick and a hair dryer. Everything proceeded smoothly. After reinstalling the RAM on the motherboard and restarting my PC, everything has been functioning perfectly over the past three days. However, recently while playing GRID 2019, the game froze during loading. I had to press the reboot button. On the other hand, all other systems on my computer are operating normally—no noticeable differences. Still, I’m keen to confirm everything is fine. I plan to keep Prime95 running overnight until Monday and then run memtest86+ from Monday to Tuesday. Both tests should take around six hours each, which aligns with my sleep schedule.
Question: Are these tests safe to run overnight? If both complete without errors, that’s a good sign. It’s late summer here, so the AC is always running and I have a closed-loop toilet. All my specifications are listed in my bio. Thanks!
I believe one complete cycle of Memtest86 would likely reveal issues with the RAM, especially if the power isn't too high. The six-hour duration might offer a more reliable confirmation under normal conditions.
In fact, I looked into it and there are instances where mistakes appear after more than ten cycles, though this is extremely uncommon.
