I recently bought this Dell Latitude E7470 laptop with a Core i5-6300U processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, and Windows 10 Pro. After turning it on, the BIOS and EC firmware began updating automatically, which isn’t what I expected. Once the OS loaded, the hard drive was labeled with the seller’s name, microbeeglobal, matching their sticker. Their Amazon profile lists CCI Computer Global Inc as the company and contact details. My concern is how reliable this device really is. Should I try flashing the firmware and BIOS, replace the drive, and give it a go? Am I overreacting? I’m considering returning it since it’s in good condition, but it seems to be working fine from what I see. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

The seller asserts they are a "Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher," yet they don't appear in the outdated refurbisher directory from Microsoft. This inconsistency raises concerns.

likely they forced everyone onto it right after the Windows install, skipping the necessary reboot for a BIOS update before releasing it. I’d interpret this more as careless effort rather than intentional disrespect.
