Verify if the laptop supports memory upgrades
Hi, I have an MSi modern B13. After searching online, it seems I have onboard memory, but when I run gpu-z it shows different details: Slot 1# and 2# with Samsung DDR4 8g 3200, part number m471a1g44bb0-cwe. The system scan says 8gig max non-removable. Please see the images and links provided for more info. Thanks.
I don't notice any mention of a free slot to insert additional content, especially considering the existing sold parts. It looks like MSI is offering a very limited product.
Crucial believes improvements are achievable:

Search for YouTube tutorials on the procedure.
One example is available here:

I have encountered laptop makers who deliberately conceal parts on the opposite side of the primary PCB, often necessitating full removal from the chassis or covering it with a metal shield. A SODIMM slot could even be concealed beneath the battery. Occasionally, you might simply discover it's not compatible with upgrades.
In the upgrade video around 2.31, it displays two RAM sticks that appear to be compatible with upgrades. Markfresh suggests watching the tutorial video to identify the RAM slots and confirm their suitability.
For your MSI Modern 15 B13M, the compatible memory details are listed below:
Onboard (soldered)
Max 16GB
DDR4-3200
The memory is built-in and cannot be changed or replaced.
We hope these recommendations assist you. Thank you!
