In short, I haven’t really bought Sony Vegas because of their weak CUDA support. With Maxwell gone, it feels like Sony is falling even more behind. It seems Vegas is mostly a stale project—they launch something then stop updating until the next funding round. Anyone know if the 750 Ti / 970 / 980 cards will work for rendering in Vegas 13? Or should I hold off until Vegas 14? Maybe switch to Adobe, though they seem just as unreliable with consumer cards.

OpenCL remains more efficient in Vegas; I’d prefer Adobe using CUDA instead.

The evaluation is actually performed with a format rarely seen by typical users or even professionals. Most individuals familiar with Sony Vegas rendering output to H.264 or AVCHD. This specific test doesn't reflect those common results.

This seems intriguing, isn't it? The reason behind it might be worth exploring further.

They're just returning. That's the reason.
