I experienced a problem with each: For Dxtory, the recording speed increased when changing resolutions. Last night at 1080p 60Hz it was around 40-45 fps, dropping to 60 when reduced to 720p. Now even at 720p it stays near 40-45, occasionally reaching 60 before dropping again. Bitrate details show about 3Gbps last night versus roughly half today, regardless of the drive used. Regarding Vegas, it doesn’t appear to enable GPU rendering on a 980 card. It lists the card in preferences but fails to find it during render setup, even though it shows up in settings. GTX980 i7-4930k 2x8GB (likely 1600MHz DDR3 Corsair vengeance).

It might relate to your hard drive's speed and running games on the same drive while recording. Recording at 60fps demands high write performance to maintain smooth playback without missing frames. I’d look into suitable settings tailored to your storage capabilities.

All things are changing in unexpected ways to fix this problem. Right now, we're opting for shadowplay as a temporary solution because it works well enough.

It reduces the video file size. That is the reason.
