VDSL2 modem malfunctioned and requires immediate replacement.
Hi, your ISP's VDSL2 modem stopped working. You're considering the Asus DSL-AC55U as a replacement and found a guide from the retailer for your ISP. Someone with experience should know if this model can operate in simple bridge mode, feeding your main router an internet connection. Also, you mentioned you're new to networking—any advice?
It's about seven years old. The ISP gifted this router with faster internet speeds back then, but it's not their own property and the warranty has expired. I just got the AC55U today too. I have a couple of small problems: Chrome sometimes shows a "STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION" error, and my download speeds aren’t reaching the full 100mbps anymore. I usually get around 85mbps, but upload speeds are almost at 10mbps. Is there a way to fix these issues? I tried using the BRIDGE mode on the modem without the VLAN tag (see this guide: https://www.asus.com/au/support/FAQ/1015722/). Is that the right approach?
