Currently I’m getting 12Mbps via ADSL2+. The provider offers a bonded VDSL plan with 25Mbps speeds for less than my current rate. Another choice is a WISP PTP delivering 20Mbps. Since I’m part of a company closely linked to WISP, service issues or public IP needs should be manageable. Pricing is nearly the same—WISP was about $40 higher, but their discount for working with my employer helped. Concerned about latency and weather effects on the PTP?

According to @intertan, the actual purpose you have in mind will shape the best option. ADSL2+ seems to offer a clearer advantage in terms of lower latency and higher reliability. WISP might face stability problems due to wireless or environmental interference, as well as weather effects. For gamers, ADSL2+ is likely the superior choice. If you rely on IP-based real-time apps like VoIP, ADSL2+ will probably perform better too. But for general web browsing, YouTube, streaming, and regular downloads, WISP’s drawbacks may be negligible.

I play some casual games which makes low latency important. Besides that, I mainly stream videos online and use Netflix, browse the web, etc. My phone also uses Wi-Fi calling most of the time when I'm at home. The signal quality is poor in my location, a very rural area, so it frequently switches from LTE to Wi-Fi.

What kinds of multiplayer games enjoy you? I usually play games like those on ADSL2+. WISP could be quicker, but gaming and voice calls might feel slower because of extra delays. If you need even faster connections, consider the bonded DSL option you mentioned—though most download speeds will still be half of that.

Popular titles include Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield. Many are first-person shooters.

In my mind, it's clear—it's definitely a yes. I'd go for ADSL2+ without any doubt.
