VDG and RGB fans enthusiasts gather to explore color technology.
Hello, Your new Sharkoon TG4 RGB case has four built-in RGB fans. While replacing the old system, I faced an issue with the VDG not working, which prevents color changes. I learned that VDG is essential for RGB functionality—it acts like a controller. With around ten fan modes, I thought resetting would switch them, but my motherboard lacks VDG. I’m unsure if there’s another method, like a USB controller, to manage the fans. Help needed!
You have two control choices: addressable or manual. The addressable approach lets you link your motherboards via these connections and manage them with compatible software. Remember to connect the controller to a SATA power supply. Avoid linking your reset switch to the controller when using this method, as outlined below. If you opt for manual control, where you use the reset switch to adjust colors and modes, simply connect your reset switch to the controller. Thank you for your message. It seems the reset switch is causing the PC to restart every time you connect it, but it doesn’t respond when unplugged. You might want to check the wiring or consult the manual for troubleshooting steps.
You're suggesting there are multiple reset switches, which isn't the intended design. The correct setup should have a single reset switch. Plugging it into the controller on the back of the case allows color control without affecting system reset.
It's okay now, thanks for your assistance everything is functioning properly. I was having trouble with two resets. After fixing the RGB, my MOLEX pin came loose and fell out, which stopped the fan. I attempted to fix it by adding some components on KT and reinstalling, but it didn't work. Now I'm left with a single broken fan. I'm unsure whether to return the case to the store or give it to a local technician. I think I might not be able to fix it myself since I'm not sure if the issue is with the MOLEX pin or the fan itself.
I'm dealing with a similar problem involving the RGB controller and my motherboard. I'm struggling to locate where to connect the VDG in a 3-prong connector. I have a rosewill Prism S white case and an MSI MGPX X570 gaming PC with the motherboard. The 3-prong 1011 connector is plugged into the motherboard above the RAM, but I can't figure out the correct header on the front panel. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
