So we’re playing a massive multiplayer shooter online with a friend. Postscript: it’s a 40v40 game. My ping usually sits around 30-40, his around 50-70, and it’s the other way around. We were curious why. Shouldn’t they be showing similar numbers? Since everything runs on a central server, shouldn’t the data flow be consistent? Or is his reading affected by the round-trip time through the server? Not just the path from my computer to the server and back. Hope this clears things up and that we’re in the right forum.
