Hello, I've been monitoring the market for new PCs for a while, especially tracking 3600. I was hoping for Zen 3 but benchmarks now make it look really strong. Would it actually be worth about half its price? Right now, 3600 costs around 230€ and 5600x is about 330€. I’m currently playing at 1080p and might upgrade to 1440p soon.

Wait for benchmark results and let the reviewers handle the evaluation of performance. It seems the 5600X appears to be a high-speed CPU, but its true value will become clear once we have the full context. The reviews are expected tomorrow or at launch day.

It would only cost 50% more in the best scenario but offer 20% gains—unlikely to justify the expense. A larger GPU would be a better use of the funds.

Also think about the 3700X — more cores likely mean a big price drop soon after the 5000 series arrive. Keep an eye on reviews; only with data can we decide if it’s worth the investment.
