Hey everyone, just installed my new rogstrix GeForce RTX 3060 and compared it to my old AMD 570X. Right now I have an AMD 5GB 2600, and on Valorant at all low settings I’m getting 100-215 FPS. Since I had the 570 before, I was seeing 70-150 FPS. That’s a big difference—am I really getting more FPS now?

On a 1080p display with minimal configurations, your processor might be struggling to keep up.

You can try adjusting settings or checking for updates first. If that doesn’t help, upgrading to a faster CPU might be necessary.

If you lack a display with a high refresh rate, the idea of pushing the game to hundreds of FPS seems unnecessary. Overclocking might offer some improvement, but likely not enough. You may need a stronger processor instead. What kind of motherboard do you own?

Did you remove the Radeon drivers before installing your new card? If not, download DDU from the provided link. Restart and reinstall the NVIDIA drivers. Open the NVIDIA control panel: select Program settings then Fortnite.

your 144hz msi monitor causes a significant drop in fps during streaming. your b450f motherboard is working with this setup.

I performed that task earlier today, though I'm uncertain about the outcome.

You can install a 5600X in that motherboard by updating the BIOS if you want to upgrade the processor. It will significantly improve performance, especially at lower resolutions like 1080p. This works well with an RTX 3070, which already offers strong capabilities.

With this generation of GPUs, at 1080p you're likely running into issues if you're not using low settings. Higher settings shift processing from CPU to GPU, which is better for performance but might strain the CPU. It could potentially boost FPS, though 200 seems high and a 144Hz monitor already handles it well. I recommend increasing settings to medium or high and consider pinning FPS to your monitor's refresh rate—most games offer this feature now.
