Valorant presenta grandes inconsistências entre XMP ativado e desligado.
Hello everyone. I’m a high-ranked VALORANT player (second in my class), and I’ve faced significant desync problems for some time. It took considerable trial and error to identify the cause—regardless of rank, enemies would defeat me effortlessly. Whether it was poor reflexes, slow reactions, or anything else, the game felt completely off.
This became clear once I resolved the issue by disabling XMP. While it led to poorer frame rates during intense controller use and a slight increase in input lag, it completely eliminated the abnormal reactions. I could now compete fairly against opponents I knew were much stronger. The improvement was dramatic—day and night. With XMP enabled, my aim felt sharp, frames remained stable, but enemies changed entirely. In deathmatch, I once believed I could challenge Radiant, only to discover they were actually Plat.
This wasn’t just a placebo. I spent time stuck in a low-level deathmatch in Diamond-Ascendant, feeling powerless after a short break—even though I had previously reached 400 ranks and easily took over 35 kills. After turning XMP off (after testing various settings), I returned to normal gameplay. I recall watching a streamer’s VOD where my performance was astonishingly poor. One kill he landed on me was unforgettable—I ran out of a smoke, reacted slowly, and died after what felt like an eternity. On my screen, I failed to react quickly enough, missing the opportunity. My movement was off, and I looked confused. That encounter was one of the worst and longest in my week. On his screen, I appeared almost instantly, making it seem like he could react faster than a smoke grenade. I noticed this pattern across all his fights. Despite this, I achieved the most kills in that game and even dismantled the Ascendant lobby, though my performance was subpar at the time.
When observing how he played—his movement and aim—it was almost too perfect to accept. The skills were impressive, possibly even better than some of the Radiants I encounter. The main flaw was that his enemies often dealt with him in ways that felt unfair for someone not even close to his rank. If you didn’t know his rank and had to guess based on his playstyle, it would have been easy to mistake him for a Radiant.
Now I own an Alienware R10 with an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 7 5800x. The memory is capped at 2667 when XMP is off. In the BIOS, there’s an option to enable XMP and PBO, which I set to auto. When I turned off XMP, I also disabled the overclocking feature entirely. This made me wonder if either setting could be responsible for these desync issues. I’ve reset my system multiple times since then, and the problem remains clear. A similar comment on BlurBusters helped confirm my experience.
I’m hoping this issue can be resolved by Riot’s developers or if someone can point out something I might have missed. My guess is that XMP settings could be unstable, and memory performance plays a huge role in how Valorant feels.
do you have wifi or an ethernet cable connected?
check the bios
install drivers such as gpu, chipset, wifi, lan, usb
