Hi. I'm facing a problem with high CPU usage in Valorant. It only happens in this game and not in others, causing annoying micro stutters every few seconds. I've already uninstalled it a few times without fixing the issue. Could you help? Thanks.

Check if the newest AMD drivers are up to date. Verify your motherboard's BIOS version. Confirm your RAM setup is 2x8GB in dual channels or a single 16GB module. Determine whether Valorant runs on your SSD or an HDD.

Hello. Yes, I'm the newest driver on my system. For BIOS, I don't have the most recent updates as profiles might be outdated, but I'm not too old in terms of version. I have dual-channel memory and have installed Valorant on my HDD.

Assuming you are running around a lot in Valorant, having it on a HDD could be an issue if the game is constantly trying to load in data for other areas. If you can run the game with a monitor open that shows the HDD usage of the drive it's on, I'd recommend taking a look at that and seeing if the drive is getting maxed out when these stutters happen. If so, your CPU is going to burn cycles waiting on data from it. What graphics card do you have? And what settings are you using for the game?

I initially believed the issue was with the HDD, but my system only uses about 0-2% during gameplay. I'm running on an AMD Radeon Rx570 Sapphire 4G and always play at a low setting.
