So I own an
AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Asus Prime B350 Plus Mobo
Corsair Vengeance 16X2 2400MHz
Asus Dual Rx580 8GB
Gigabyte P550B PSU
Previously, I achieved over 260 FPS at 1920x1080 low settings. Now I’m consistently getting 150 or less, with fluctuations between 80 and 150. I changed to 1440x1080 and the issue persisted. Even after trying to adjust settings, I’m still seeing 80-150.
I reinstalled Windows and all drives, everything is up to date. My disks have 70% to 80% free space. Using YouTube optimization guides without optimization hasn’t improved my performance. I don’t have any viruses running on my system.
I play for a team and am working hard to reach professional levels, but it’s really challenging. I’m hoping you can assist me in resolving this problem. Thank you all in advance.
Valorant runs a bit slower than expected, even with a high-end setup; even a 3600 r5 can’t reach over 230fps at 150fps drop. Here’s a possible approach:
Disconnect from the internet
Uninstall the GPU driver using DDU (clean up and don’t restart).
Uninstall all processors via Device Manager (should show 12 on your system)
Restart the PC to BIOS, then update to the latest BIOS
Download, extract the required files, copy them to a USB drive, insert it into the rear USB port, reboot to BIOS and flash the new BIOS. After updating, return to BIOS and select default or optimized settings.
Boot into Windows, install the newest AMD Chipset driver, restart, choose the AMD Ryzen balanced power plan, connect to the internet.
Install the latest Radeon driver.
Continue all these steps offline until you finish installing the AMD chipset driver; after that, reboot and set XMP settings as needed. Ensure your RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4. Download the necessary files before proceeding, and follow each step carefully.
If the problem persists, consider disabling Razer Synapse.
Also verify Windows updates (and optional updates) are installed, except for the chipset driver.
Make sure the PSU connected to the GPU uses a single PCIe cable per slot (use the main cable, not the branches/splits).
