V Formula-Z Northbridge Thermal Issues at High Temperatures
Hello everyone. I'm continuing where we left off from my previous discussion about this problem. I'm still experiencing the same temperature issue with the NB temp reaching 60-75°C. You can find the original thread here. Using AIDA64, you'll see the temperatures and voltages configured. While it's best to refer to a screenshot of the BIOS settings, I'll need to capture that image and update this post. AIDA64:
It's noted that the heatsinks are linked together, meaning rising temperatures in one area affect all of them. The recommended solution is to introduce direct airflow, similar to using a liquid cooler, which would prevent hot air from reaching the heatsinks and avoid overheating problems.
Here are some alternative phrasings of your text:
The screenshots shown above come from the BIOS interface.
@jaslion Removing the heatsink requires the proper thermal pads to secure it back in place. If I detach it from the front side of the motherboard, I’ll also need to install new pads on the VRMs, which makes me anxious about getting everything reassembled correctly.
My CPU is the only part that uses liquid cooling, but I’m more worried about the overall temperature than the CPU itself.
I didn’t mention taking out the heatsink. Just direct a fan toward it. There seems to be a blockage in the airflow, which shouldn’t occur since those components don’t generate much heat. The 30°C internal temperature is normal.
