Hello, I’m curious about using an old 2013 27-inch iMac as a monitor for a new M2 Mac Mini. I remember target display mode could work with a Catalina-based source Mac, but since you’re using a silicon-based Mac, I’m wondering if anyone has found a solution to make this possible. It would be a real loss to discard such a good device when it’s still functional. Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Offer it for sale and use the earnings to purchase a high-quality monitor, making the most of the funds from your old Mac.

Use your iMac as a screen with the desired display setting. You’ll also require the Apple Thunderbolt Cable (2.0 m) and a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) adapter to connect it to a compatible device.

Not all CPUs are silicon-based; some use different chip designs like Apple's Silicon. This usually refers to Apple's custom processors rather than Intel or AMD chips.

I don't have access to external reports or documentation beyond what's provided. You may need to consult official sources or community discussions for information about compatibility with newer versions.
