i intend to purchase additional ddr4 ram and utilize xmp. if i just open the bios and enable xmp, will that suffice? don’t have to deal with any cpu-related adjustments now do i? i assumed xmp was as easy as turning it on and restarting the system without further steps. help appreciated.

You simply navigate to the RAM settings, sometimes it appears right away, and you can enable it. It usually activates automatically.

You can choose XMP and enable it via BIOS; it's straightforward to activate. Ensure the memory you purchase is compatible with XMP.

Check if any adjustments are necessary for the CPU settings or if they should remain as they are.

Your motherboard needs to handle XMP as well. Which one are you using?

It seems odd that the ring frequency reads 4.1 while the CPU shows a steady 4.2, especially since there appears to be no idle clock speed. This might indicate normal operation rather than excessive stress.

Just to check, try turning on intel speedstep in the BIOS and see if it makes a difference.
As long as it's cooling properly, you should be fine.
