I run Windows 10 64-bit on an Acer Nitro 5 years 515-54 with 1650 MB RAM, 8 GB of memory, and a Core i5 9300H processor. When I press Shift + Windows, pressing Windows + Shift + S captures the screen properly.

Win plus shift works, but there’s no dedicated modifier key for anything else.

The sequence you're seeing is unusual. Win+Shift+S usually opens a screenshot, while Win+Shift+S returns to the original window. Win+Win+S brings up the Start menu. If you're unsure, try testing each combination one by one.

They appear to be completely unrelated code identifiers. The concern likely stems from their distinct usage or meaning in the system.

Using Win + S and Win + S works differently, and I’m not sure what Win + S actually does.
