Using the screen sharing feature in Discord leads to various technical problems with devices.
Hello everyone. Whenever I use Discord, especially with Chrome open as a window, my connected USB devices behave strangely. The mouse and keyboard intermittently fail—first for a second, then not at all. Other USB gadgets like the Focusrite audio also become noisy. The webcam stops working completely, and if I connect a headset via USB it restarts itself. Streaming on YouTube or Twitch causes similar issues, just like when NVIDIA updates happen. Windows sounds as if many devices have been disconnected and reconnected. During this time, no other tasks are using the GPU. I’ve reinstalled the OS but nothing changed. My specs include a Corsair RM750x PSU. Any suggestions on what might be causing this?
USB disconnection issue? Try updating your chipset drivers. Your setup with a 5800x and 3090 on a 750W PSU is pushing limits. How much power are you using while streaming on Discord?
I don't have a way to measure energy use without the necessary tools. It seems playing RE2 VR smoothly works in plain text mode on Chrome without animations. High resolutions like 2k or 4k with good FPS shouldn’t cause problems. I noticed this can happen when trying to play 8k video on TV, which might point to issues with video encoding or decoding rather than power consumption. Apologies if I haven't understood the situation clearly—I'm not familiar with such a scenario.
