Using OBS with a Display Capture reduces lag in games
Hey everyone, I’m dealing with a really strange problem in MW3. It seems like the game runs much smoother when OBS is active, even though my monitor only supports 75Hz and I’ve capped my FPS at 75FPS. When OBS is running, the game feels buttery smooth and stays within that limit. My FPS never drops below 75, no matter what. I’m curious why this happens and how to fix the choppiness when playing without OBS. My system has an RTX 3060Ti or Ryzen 7 3700X.
Recent video drivers and AMD chipset updates? The newest software releases available.
Yep, all the latest drivers and software (latest OBS and AMD/NVIDIA drivers + 23H2 Windows 11), issues still occur. Forgot to mention this before, but this effect seems to be on only MW2/3, other games do work fine. Considering doing a clean Nvidia driver install or DDU next.
It turned out a DDU along with a fresh installation of the newest NVIDIA drivers resolved the issue. Note: The problem reappeared after rebooting, so further investigation is needed.
Identified the intermittent problem linked to the "Call of Duty" folder on OneDrive backup. Corrupted setup was likely the cause, but the game still launched. Deleting the folder and rebuilding it later resolved the issue.
