Using excessive clock speeds on a non-VRM cooled motherboard
I was thinking about overclocking a GIGABYTE GA-B250M-DS3H using an I5-7600K, aiming for speeds near 4.2 or 4.4 GHz. It’s not ideal since the VRMs aren’t cooled, but I wanted to know how much heat the VRMs could absorb if I added a small voltage boost of +0.02 Volts to the CPU.
You are unable to increase the CPU speed because the motherboard isn't a Z-series model.
