They likely install the extra software by simply copying Windows from one PC to another, using various product keys each time.

I'm not sure about using an HP key with a regular Windows version. It seems you might need their special recovery image to work. Could be worth trying, though.

I successfully used Toshiba and HP laptops at work, provided you purchased 7 premium keys and 7 premium discs.

They don't rely on various product keys. Every machine from the factory uses the identical key. The code on the label is likely never applied.

The main issue would be that the key is already in use on an HP machine, so it can't be activated elsewhere.
