It took around 10 to 15 seconds for the ASUS display to appear on both my B350 Plus and B350 F units, using the same hardware. The system runs with 1866 MHz RAM. Would adjusting it to 1333 MHz help?
never mentioned reducing RAM speed I set it at 1600 instead of using XMP I entered the values manually, only uncertainty remains about the DRAM command rate being set to 2 by default after I saved and restarted. This might affect how quickly I reach the post screen. After restarting several times, everything seemed normal, though I haven’t confirmed it yet. It’s possible XMP was interfering, but if everything works fine now, I’m considering increasing it back to 1866. If an error reappears, it could point to a motherboard or memory issue. Please ensure the settings are correct and nothing else needs adjustment.
You might want to explore other RAM-related settings. There could be an option to adjust USB device behavior that you haven’t seen before.
Solved here! It was the USB HUB. I faced the same issue—startup took 206 seconds and now is just 10 seconds. My setup: Asus Rog Hero Croshair VIII motherboard, AMD 5950X, 128GB RAM, 3600MHz, Nvidia GTX 3090, Alienware AW3418DW screen. I used an AmazonBasics USB 3.0 male to female extender plugged in. Initially, I tried turning off OC and changing power settings, but nothing helped until I realized the culprit was a single USB 3.0 male to female extender (AmazonBasics). It connected the backplate USB to my screen, acting as a hub. All other devices worked fine. During the lengthy startup, removing that extender instantly brought me to the Windows login screen. Hope this assists others. Cheers Igor
I solved it—my DVD-ROM was the culprit. I had an old case full of them and hadn’t used any in years. After going through all the advice, I updated drivers, ran benchmarks, verified UEFI settings, but nothing worked. Thanks to @Igor, I tested each front panel connector on the motherboard one by one. The only issue was my DVD-ROM. Before: Last BIOS time ~75.5 seconds After: Last BIOS time ~12.2 seconds
