It seems RAM usage increases with more cores, and the X299 chips offer superior memory controllers compared to AMD, even at Zen 2.

They will eliminate all AMD CPUs before Zen 2 if you run heavy FP64 tasks with AVX-512 support, especially when using prime number calculations similar to Prime95. Zen 2 stands out mainly because it offers more cores for the price, making it only slightly better than consumer Intel chips per core and comparable to older Ryzen models in this scenario.
