I recently put together this build and it posts fine, but it will not detect the ssd. I’ve tried different cables for both the power and data, different sata slots on the mobo, different psu slots, and they haven’t worked. I’ve tried switching from achi, raid, and ide and none of them have worked. (Ide I even had to reset my cmos) I tried installing windows 10 with the installation media, but I don’t get far as it doesn’t detect any drive either. I tried installing a driver off the internet (something along the lines of asus z97-c achi/raid path) and loading that in the windows installation however it still fails to find the ssd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. full specs motherboard: Asus z97-c CPU; i5-4460 GPU: GTX 960 SSD: Crucial mx500 1 tb memory: 8gb ddr3 1600 patriot viper, had to run only a single stick in compatibility mode, currently waiting for new ram kit PSU: Corsair rmx750 80+ gold bios version: 2801

Check the drive on another computer to confirm its performance. Personal stories can be just that—stories—but I've noticed several Crucial MX500 SSDs failing lately. They're commonly used in one supplier's systems, and after three years they're starting to report SMART issues and failing RAID setups.

I could possibly do it soon, though I just installed this SSD in another system a few days back and it performed perfectly then.
