Hello, I’m facing a problem with one of my workstations from the college computing lab. It runs the mentioned motherboard, a Core i7 7740X (possibly 7800X or 7820X), 128GB RAM (8x16GB), an Asus ROG NVidia GTX 1080, and a Corsair H100i v2 AiO cooler. I performed a standard cleanup (it operates continuously in a cluster) and disconnected the GPU, some I/O cables (non-power), then reapplied thermal paste while some dust entered. Everything worked until I reinstalled the OS after it failed. I ran memtest86+ via an USB drive for a memory check, but stopped early. I rebooted... Now the system freezes, displaying Q-Code 4F on the integrated LED and producing two sets of three long beeps. The manual says 4F means "DXE IPL started," but no further details or guidance. The only codes mentioned are an endless sequence of long plus short beeps—not the two rounds of three long ones described. I’ve tried reapplying thermal paste, reseating the CPU one stick at a time, removing and reinserting the GPU (since it lacks an integrated display), and pressing the "MemOK!" button. Resetting the BIOS by shorting pins or removing/adding the CMOS battery, then reconnecting power. I used an extra RAM stick that worked fine. I checked for GPU issues and even cleaned out an old GTX 460, but nothing changed. Also, I tested the CPU—found no bent pins or bad connections, and re-applied thermal paste. The CPU is an i7 7800X.
