I was recently gifted a PC with windows 7 on it. Anyways, I was wondering what I would need to do (if any) to make it safe for me to plug in the hard drive. There aren't any viruses on it, just worried about the two operating systems (Windows 7 and 10) and what might happen. Thanks

Open the BIOS and verify that the desired system drive is listed first among the hard drive options.
That's sufficient.
However, if you later choose to boot from the 7th drive and it's an OEM version, the system will disable due to the motherboard update.

For any used PC, free or purchased...your initial action should be a complete reset and reinstall. It's not just about viruses, there are other concerns too.
