Used enterprise switch to manage POE cameras and Wi-Fi ACs
I have a few priorities for my setup. I plan to connect four PCs, nine PoE cameras, three Wi-Fi ACs, and many wired devices like smart lighting hubs and automation systems. I want 48 ports to avoid future upgrades. On eBay I see many choices, but I’m unsure which ones fit. Here’s what I’m considering:
1. 48 ports
2. Gigabit speed
3. POE+ support
4. Suitable depth for mounting (some deep ports)
5. High power output for ACs
6. Centralized management options
7. A few 10GB ports (not SFPs) would be helpful
8. Not overly power-hungry with many PSUs and fans
For a business environment, I should focus on reliable enterprise gear without worrying about brand names.
Thanks a lot for the info. I checked further and discovered another option that meets everything and is marginally more affordable. I recently purchased the brocade ICX6450-48P.
