to watch tv in vlc on your linux machine running wayland, you can use the kaffeine player. ensure kvm is enabled and configured properly. start kvm, then launch kvm with the appropriate settings for your tv source. if you need to stream assc local broadcasts, make sure your tv app supports it and that kvm is set up to handle the input correctly.

For content delivered through a standard digital TV signal, you’d require a TV tuner card.

Navigate to the media section, where you'll find an option to stream locally.

I notice the capture unit and additional ATS settings, but I'm unsure about the scanning locations. You only see a play button and transponder/multiplex frequency displayed in kHz.

THERE'S A SOFTWARE THAT CAN RECORD VIDEO AND AUDIO FROM VARIOUS EXTERNAL DEVICES WITHOUT THE NEED OF A TUNER. YOU WILL NEED A USB HDMI VIDEO CAPTURE DONGLE (+-USD$10) THOUGH. ALSO LOOKS LIKE IT RECORDS MULTIPLE CHANNELS AND DEVICES SIMULTANEOUSLY... THEIR VIDEO IS HERE ON YOUTUBE... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5wVGrauRPo
