I searched for those built-in hotkeys in Windows 10 and found no record of an email shortcut that opens the Mail app. It seems the file isn’t listed in the standard applications directory. Let me know if you’d like help locating it elsewhere or adjusting your settings.

Who knows? It wasn't clear which laptop it was. You can't just jump into the HP section when you have an Acer. If you visit the manufacturer's site for your device, you should locate the recommended software.

Yes, you're correct. You can either rely on the keyboard app or employ various hotkey programs. Windows already includes this feature—just create a shortcut and set a hotkey in its properties.

It wasn't needed since it involved a Windows-based application, though it's an Acer Extensa 5230e.

You should use Acer Launch Manager. Here’s the download link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/...ER&SC=PA_4 Unless your quick keys work with the built-in Windows shortcut option (it doesn't with my keyboard's macro keys)

The Launch Manager came preinstalled with my laptop. As mentioned, the next step is locating the app's file path. It offers choices to enter a URL or open a file, but I’m unsure where the file is stored.

Okay, nevermind. It's not possible. I found the app's folder in the hidden AppData folder (duh... dunno why I didn't think of that at first), but there's no executable to assign to the hotkey. Confirmed this with a couple other apps, and they're all no-go's as well.

Wait, do all programs include an executable file? You seem a bit puzzled.

I don't have a program to run, but I can help you with instructions or guidance on using autohotkey.

The folder doesn't contain an executable file. It's possible the real .exe is stored elsewhere, but I can't identify it without more information.
