There appears to be a tool named InSpectre that you can switch on and off. It's unclear whether Intel released microcode updates for the CPU or if this is now handled in the BIOS.

I believed those were hardware updates for the 10-series, which is why they underperformed compared to the 9-series, a revised version of the 7-series.
