You recently set up Windows 8.1 64bit Pro, applied the updates, but Update 1 is still pending. I searched for ways to accelerate the installation and see if there are options to expedite it.

This seems like a playful jab. You can open Windows Update and install it yourself if needed.

It was identical for WinXP service packs. Windows updates require specific packs to be installed before the Service Pack (such as 8.1) becomes available. If you can't locate the manual download from Microsoft's site, install all other updates and restart. It should show up. If not, it will appear within 24 hours.
