On a laptop, Nvidia Optimus should work as expected. On a desktop, ensure the iGPU is enabled in BIOS and connect the monitor via a video port on the motherboard, switching it back when needed.
You can adjust GPU configurations for each application using the regular nVidia Control Panel, though I've only noticed this feature on laptops featuring both iGPUs and HDMI GPUs together. It seems the same choices should work on a desktop under similar conditions, but I haven't experienced it firsthand.
Verify integrated graphics aren't turned off in Device Manager, though they shouldn't be. After confirming, you can adjust settings via the Nvidia Control Panel. Some games might let you select a specific GPU, which is uncommon but possible. You can also disable your GTX-1050 Ti in Device Manager and rely on integrated graphics instead. Remember to switch your monitor cable from the GPU to the I-GPU so it actually utilizes it. Generally, most games should use the I-GPU when connected to it, but you can try this method if needed. If disabled, ensure you reactivate your main GPU when ready to use it again.
The HD2500 graphics on that 3470 are restricted to desktop use and possibly 720p YouTube. To access the built-in graphics, you'd have to connect it to the motherboard.
