You're asking if it's possible to use fingerprint authentication for websites and passwords without relying on Hello. It sounds like you're exploring alternative methods since using Hello blocks booting into Windows. Yes, fingerprint logins can work for websites and apps, similar to opening an app on a phone. It’s feasible to use fingerprint scans for login purposes, though the setup might depend on the platform you're using.

This feature requires specific software to function. On my Mac (macOS), I can unlock the password manager (Bitwarden) using my fingerprint. This allows me to access it from any device. ~Note: I verified it, the browser extension also works but needs permission in the desktop app first. (And if you haven’t yet, definitely use a password manager.)

You're welcome! Regarding your question, there are ways to avoid the Hello logon prompt during remote startup. Authenticating with your phone is a common method. Since you use Plex, you might explore using mobile authentication features or third-party apps that support this. Let me know if you need more details!

I’m not sure, as I don’t rely on Windows much now. However, this might match what you’re looking for: https://superuser.com/a/1715548
