I upgraded my Dell laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I never used Thunderbird before, so when I tried to download it recently, I got confused because it said something like "it's now known as Mozilla." Back in the day, I used to copy an old email profile and move it to this new computer, and everything worked fine back then. It's been a long time since I did that. Maybe I don't know how to do it anymore? If anyone can tell me if those steps still work, that would help a lot. I tried syncing the emails, but it didn't work. Then I tried exporting or importing them, but that also failed. What is going on here??? The more Microsoft changes its systems, browsers, and even takes over companies, the more I feel like I'm just an ignorant user.
The best move is to back up your address book so you don't lose anything. If you want to keep all your old emails and make sure Mozilla Thunderbird comes back exactly the same way, just use a small free program called Hekasoft Backup & Restore v92. Update your computer's software on the old one first, then copy everything over to the new setup. I recently switched from Windows 7 to Windows 11 and kept all my settings safe with that tool. It also works fine for other stuff like browsers and antivirus programs.
